S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y

We had a very fun Saturday. First, we took pictures of the hamsters (our foster hamster who now live at our house) we bought for our niece and nephew. Which then led to a fun game of "catch the psycho unbelievably fast and small hamster". Btw, Brian was THRILLED with me laughing and snapping pictures of him while he tried to rescue the hamster from the cat. This hamster is so fast, you almost cannot see him even. Much less catch him.

We did a whole lot of experiments that we got from lakeshore this weekend when we did the craft time. We learned about crystals with the crystal growing tree. And we made this creepy fake snow that is REALLY cold. We also took these little green seeds and soaked them in water, and they grew into these huge green orbs. Which taught us about osmosis.

(Osmosis is the diffusion of a solvent (frequently water) through a semi-permeable membrane, from a solution of low solute concentration (high water potential) to a solution with high solute concentration (low water potential), up a solute concentration gradient.)

We also went and did the craft time at Loews Home Improvement. The kids made these skeletons by nailing and hammering all the parts together. Let me tell you, it takes an unbelieveable amount of trust to hold the tiny little wooden pieces while your three year old swings a hammer at your hands... yikes!!!
