Snow Land, Snow Land, Wonderful Girl and Boy Land.....

If you happen to live somewhere that is snows regularly, then you will surely be laughing at all this enthusiasm.....

IT SNOWED!!!!!!!!!! SNOW SNOW SNOW SNOW!!! A Christmas Miracle!!!!!! I'm a little excitable.

It was actually really perfect. Emma and I decided to decorate the tree tonight, and I made hot chocolate and wassail. (hot chocolate recipe will be a the bottom of the post). We were listening to carols, and we went to take the puppies for a walk when we realized it was snowing. We ran home, woke up Chloe and John and ran outside to play in the snow!!! It was awesome, and my children are sneaky snowball throwers. It was also extra nice because I had all the hot drinks ready and we were able to share with the neighbors and this was nice, they were very impressed. See, normally, I am the slacker mom padding down the driveway in my Snow White PJ bottoms and Brian's old tshirt to grab the trashcans at noon thirty, so it was nice to have the brief facade of pulling it all together :).

Excited just doesn't even begin to cover it!

Is it just me, or does he look like a purpley striped Jawa from Star Wars? Oh and he was the biggest snowball thrower ever! SUCH a sneaky pete.

The Tree. We learned last year to put the tree up high. Last year we had this awesome tree that was like 7 foot tall. Every morning I would find broken ornaments, branches gone.... This year we wised up and did a four foot tree on top of the entertainment center.

Hot Chocolate
INGREDIENTS
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup white sugar
1 pinch salt
1/3 cup boiling water
3 1/2 cups milk
3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup half-and-half cream

DIRECTIONS
Combine the cocoa, sugar and pinch of salt in a saucepan. Blend in the boiling water. Bring this mixture to an easy boil while you stir. Simmer and stir for about 2 minutes. Watch that it doesn't scorch. Stir in 3 1/2 cups of milk and heat until very hot, but do not boil! Remove from heat and add vanilla. Divide between 4 mugs. Add the cream to the mugs of cocoa to cool it to drinking temperature.
